SYNOPSIS

     Provides for equal opportunity for businesses that pay societal benefits charges to apply for certain energy-related incentives and funding.

An Act providing for equal opportunity for businesses to apply for certain energy-related incentives and funding, and supplementing Title 48 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    Notwithstanding any law, rule, regulation or order to the contrary, the Board of Public Utilities shall provide equal opportunity for businesses in all areas of the State 1that pay the societal benefits charge that is imposed pursuant to section 12 of P.L.1999, c.23 (C.48:3-60)1 to apply for, and receive, incentives or funding under programs that are financed by 1[the societal benefits] that1 charge 1[imposed pursuant to section 12 of P.L.1999, c.23 (C.48:3-60)]1.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect on the first day of the sixth month following enactment, except that the board may take such action in advance of the effective date as shall be necessary to implement the provisions of this act.
