SYNOPSIS
Repeals laws concerning the incorporation of religious societies and congregations in New Jersey.

An Act concerning certain religious corporations and repealing various parts of the statutory law.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The following are repealed:
R.S.16:1-1 to R.S.16:1-47 inclusive;

2. The following acts, specifically saved from repeal in the Revised Statutes, 1937, are repealed:
16:1-28 (1);
16:5-2 (1);
16:7-1 (1) to 16:7-1 (5) inclusive;
16:11-6 (1); and
16:14-1 (1) to 16:14-1 (11) inclusive.
3. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill repeals all laws and portions of laws which concern the incorporation of religious societies or congregations in New Jersey. This includes the general laws concerning their incorporation, and the laws specific to the incorporation or organization of various denominations, including the Roman Catholic Church, the Presbyterian Church, and the Protestant Episcopal Church, among others.
