SYNOPSIS

     Provides that nonpublic school nursing services may include nursing services for a preschool pupil in the event of an emergency.

An Act concerning the provision of nursing services to nonpublic schools and supplementing P.L.1991, c.226 (C.18A:40-23 et seq.).

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    The nursing services provided pursuant to P.L.1991, c.226 (C.18A:40-23 et seq.) may also include, in the event of an emergency, the provision of nursing services to a preschool pupil enrolled in the nonpublic school.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     Under P.L.1991, c.226 (C.18A:40-23 et seq.), the board of education in a school district in which a nonpublic school is located is required to provide certain nursing services for pupils who are enrolled full-time in the nonpublic school in grades kindergarten through 12.  This bill specifies that in the event of an emergency, the nursing services may also be provided to a preschool pupil enrolled in the nonpublic school.
