SYNOPSIS

     Concerns emergency assistance which is repaid by the recipient.

An Act concerning emergency assistance payments and supplementing P.L.1997, c.14.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    The Commissioner of Human Services shall not count months of emergency assistance, which were repaid to a county or municipal agency, in accordance with the agreement to repay, toward a recipient’s time limit, as established by section 8 of P.L.1997, c.14 (C.44:10-51), for the receipt of emergency assistance.

 

     2.    The Commissioner of Human Services shall adopt rules and regulations pursuant to the “Administrative Procedure Act,” P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.), to effectuate the purposes of this act.

 

     3.    This act shall take effect 1[immediately] on the first day of the seventh month next following enactment, except the commissioner may take any anticipatory administrative action in advance as shall be necessary for the implementation of this act1.
