SYNOPSIS

     Requires State-owned ocean house located in Island Beach State Park to be offered for rent to general public.

An Act concerning the use of certain State-owned residential property in Island Beach State Park and supplementing Title 52 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.  The residential property comprised of an ocean house owned by the State located in Island Beach State Park shall be managed by the Residential Housing Management Board, established pursuant to section 1 of P.L.1983, c.468 (C.52:31-23), and shall be offered on all calendar days of the year for rent or lease to the general public pursuant to the policies established by the board and in accordance with the provisions of P.L.1983, c.468 (C.52:31-23 et seq.).  The residential property shall not be available for use, rent, or lease by the Governor, the Governor’s family, or any other public employee, official, or entity.

 

     2.  This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill requires the State to offer for rent the ocean house located in Island Beach State Park to the general public on all calendar days of the year.  Currently, the house is used by the Governor and his family.  The rental of this house will generate revenue for the State.
