SYNOPSIS

     Adopts the latest Joint Rules Governing Legislative District Offices signed by the Presiding Officers, with the attached appendices, for use by the Legislature.

A Concurrent Resolution adopting Joint Rules Governing Legislative District Offices.

 

Whereas,   The Joint Rules Governing Legislative District Offices adopted by the Organizational Resolution on January 12, 2016, were those signed by the Presiding Officers serving in 2007; and

Whereas,   The current Presiding Officers have signed updated Joint Rules Governing Legislative District Offices which better reflect current needs and standards for the district office program; and

Whereas,   It is fitting and proper for the Houses to adopt the latest Joint Rules Governing Legislative District Offices to more effectively and efficiently serve members of the Legislature and their constituents; now, therefore,

 

     Be It Resolved by the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey (the Senate concurring):

 

     1.    That the Joint Rules Governing Legislative District Offices, as signed by the Presiding Officers on November 20, 2017 and November 30, 2017, with appendices A through D, be adopted as the current Joint Rules Governing Legislative District Offices for use by the Legislature.

 

     2.    This concurrent resolution shall take effect immediately and be retroactive to November 30, 2017.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This concurrent resolution adopts the latest Joint Rules Governing Legislative District Offices signed by the current Presiding Officers, with the appendices A through D, for current use by the Legislature, effective November 30, 2017.
