SYNOPSIS
Establishes Dept. of Agriculture cooking contest.

An Act establishing a Department of Agriculture cooking contest and supplementing Title 4 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. The Department of Agriculture, in coordination with any agricultural or farming organization as determined appropriate by the department, shall establish a cooking contest for using the most “Jersey Fresh” agricultural products or commodities.
b. The department shall adopt, pursuant to the “Administrative Procedure Act,” P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.), rules and regulations for the conduct of the contest, and the awarding of premiums, prizes, or rewards for the successful contestants.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill would require the Department of Agriculture, in coordination with any agricultural or farming organization as determined appropriate by the department, to establish a cooking contest for using the most “Jersey Fresh” agricultural products or commodities. The department would also be required to adopt regulations for the conduct of the contest, and in the awarding of premiums, prizes, or rewards for the successful contestants.
