An Act concerning certain contact information for the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission and supplementing Title 39 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission shall conspicuously display at all official inspection facilities designated by the commission, a toll-free customer service telephone number. A person may call the toll-free customer service telephone number to report to the commission any technical problems the person experiences at an official inspection facility. The commission shall provide reasonable assistance to a person calling the toll-free customer service telephone number.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill requires the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (commission) to provide at all official motor vehicle inspection facilities, a toll-free customer service telephone number. A person may use the telephone number to report to the commission any technical problems the person experiences at an official inspection facility and the commission is required to provide reasonable assistance to a person calling the toll-free customer service telephone number.
