STATEMENT

This bill provides that an institution of higher education in the State which offers child care services to students enrolled in the institution and accepts vouchers under the New Jersey Cares for Kids (NJCK) Program will not charge a student who receives a voucher under that program an amount for the child care services that exceeds the amount of the program voucher.

The NJCK Program, under regulations promulgated by the Commissioner of Human Services at N.J.A.C.10:15-5.1 et seq., provides eligible families with necessary child care services through the Child Care Resource & Referral Agency in the county where the family resides.  A family is eligible for the program if the family meets certain income guidelines.
