     Requires child care centers to be equipped with epinephrine.

An Act concerning epinephrine and supplementing Title 26 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

      1.   a.     As used in this section:

     “Child care center" means a child care center licensed pursuant to the provisions of P.L.1983, c.492 (C.30:5B-1 et seq.).

      b.   Each child care center shall be equipped with an appropriate supply of epinephrine auto-injector devices, and shall be staffed by at least individual who is trained to administer an epinephrine auto-injector device during the child care center’s hours of operation. 

 

     2.    The Commissioner of Health may promulgate rules and regulations, in accordance with the “Administrative Procedure Act,” P.L.1968, c.410 (C.52:14B-1 et seq.), if necessary to effectuate the provisions of this act.

 

     3.  This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill requires child care centers to be equipped with epinephrine.

     Under the bill, each child care center is to be equipped with an appropriate supply of epinephrine auto-injector devices, and is to be staffed by at least individual who is trained to administer an epinephrine auto-injector device during the child care center’s hours of operation. 

     The bill defines “child care center" to mean a child care center licensed pursuant to the provisions of P.L.1983, c.492 (C.30:5B-1 et seq.).
