SYNOPSIS
Provides employee access to employee’s employment records on file with DOLWD.

An Act concerning employee access to employment records, and supplementing Title 34 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. 1[Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S.43:21-11 et seq., or any other law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the Department of Labor and Workforce Development shall provide to any person, upon that person’s written request, that person’s wage, employment, and unemployment compensation records and information, and any other records related to that person’s employment maintained by the department. The documentation shall be provided free of charge.
b.]1 Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S.43:21-11 et seq., or any other law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the Department of Labor and Workforce Development shall provide for and undertake the electronic transmission of a person’s wage, employment, and unemployment compensation records and information, and any other records related to that person’s employment maintained by the department, upon the request of that person, to any third party or vendor authorized pursuant to an agreement with the department to receive and transmit such information.
1[c.] b.1 The Department of Labor and Workforce Development is authorized to enter into an agreement with one or more third parties to implement the provisions of subsection 1[b.] a.1 of this section.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
