SYNOPSIS
Makes supplemental appropriation of $500,000 to DMVA for Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson-SOS Veterans Unmet Needs Fund.

A Supplement to the annual appropriations act for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, P.L.2022, c.49.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.2022, c.49, the annual appropriations act for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, there is appropriated from the General Fund the following amount for the purpose specified:

80 Special Government Services
83 Services to Veterans
3610 Veterans’ Program Support
GRANTS-IN-AID
50-3610 Veterans’ Outreach and Assistance ....................... $500,000

2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill provides a supplemental appropriation of $500,000 from the General Fund to the Department of Veterans and Military Affairs for Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson’s SOS Veterans Unmet Needs Fund. The SOS Veterans Unmet Needs Fund offers financial assistance to veterans in need through onetime payments of $1,500 or less to veteran households. All proceeds support veterans who do not qualify for other forms of financial aid.
