     Extends eligibility for certain individuals for emergency assistance.

An Act extending eligibility for certain individuals for emergency assistance and amending P.L.2018, c.164.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    Section 3 of P.L.2018, c.164 is amended to read as follows:

     3. This act shall take effect immediately, provided, however, that the provisions of paragraph (3) of subsection a. of section 8 of P.L.,2018, c.164 (C.44:10-51) shall expire on the first day of the[60th] 120th month after the effective date of this act.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill extends the eligibility for certain individuals for emergency assistance.  Legislation, enacted in 2018, stipulated that the provisions extending the emergency assistance shall expire on the first day of the 60th month after the effective date of the act.  This amendment extends the emergency assistance limit from 60 months to 120 months.
