SYNOPSIS

     Commemorates 100th anniversary of New Jersey Association of School Business Officials.

A Senate Resolution commemorating the 100th anniversary of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials.

 

Whereas, The New Jersey Association of School Business Officials is an esteemed organization which serves the education community in the State as leaders in the business of public education; and

Whereas, The mission of the association is to promote the highest standards of ethics and efficiency, provide its members with professional development and support, and collaborate with entities that affect public education; and

Whereas, 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials; and

Whereas, Since 1923, the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials has contributed significantly to public education in New Jersey through its financial and operational management of school districts; and

Whereas, The association has approximately 1,000 members who are board of education business administrators and board secretaries that directly impact business and financial decisions in schools, including overseeing $33 billion in school expenditures across the State; and

Whereas, Members of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials are directly involved with budgeting, payroll, health benefits, purchasing, accounting, insurance and risk management, cash management, transportation, food service, construction, maintenance, custodial, technology, and collective bargaining at schools throughout the State; and

Whereas, The association has contributed to the professionalization of the position of school business administrator which gained the State’s recognition and certification in 1963; and

Whereas, School business administrators are committed to effectively managing a school’s fiscal integrity and often have a substantial impact on education quality; and

Whereas, New Jersey and its public education system depend in great measure on superb organizations such as the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials; and

Whereas, Over the past 100 years, the association has remained dedicated to improving the education system of the State; and

Whereas, Due to the association’s outstanding service on behalf of the students and people of the State, it is altogether fitting and proper for this House to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials; now, therefore,

 

     Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1. This House hereby commemorates the 100th anniversary of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials, salutes its many years supporting local communities throughout the State, and extends sincere best wishes for the association’s continued vigor and success.

 

     2.  Copies of this resolution, as filed with the Secretary of State, shall be transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to the executive committee and the executive director of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This Senate Resolution commemorates the 100th anniversary of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials.

     The New Jersey Association of School Business Officials (NJASBO) serves the public education community in the State by promoting ethics and efficiency, providing school business officials with professional development and support, and collaborating with entities that directly impact public education. The NJASBO has approximately 1,000 members comprising board of education business administrators and board secretaries who cumulatively oversee $33 billion in expenditures across the State. New Jersey and its education system depend in great measure on superb organizations, such as the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials, which are dedicated to improving the public education system in the State.
