SYNOPSIS

     Amends effective date of New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act.

An Act concerning the medical use of marijuana and amending P.L.2009, c. 307.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.  Section 19 of P.L.2009, c.307  is amended to read as follows:

     19.  This act shall take effect on [the first day of the sixth month after enactment] October 1, 2010, but the commissioner and the Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs may take such anticipatory administrative action in advance thereof as may be necessary to effectuate the provisions of this act.

 

     2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill amends the New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act (N.J.S.A.24:6I-1 et al.) to extend by 90 days the effective date of the law, so that it takes effect on October 1, 2010.
