SYNOPSIS
Waives annual teacher evaluation requirement for certain teachers who supervise student teachers.

An Act concerning teacher evaluations and supplementing P.L.2012, c.26 (C.18A:6-117 et al.).
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. Notwithstanding the provisions of P.L.2012, c.26 (C.18A:6-117 et al.) or any other law or regulation to the contrary, a teacher who has received at least two consecutive annual summative evaluation ratings of highly effective, or three consecutive annual summative evaluation ratings of effective or a combination of effective and highly effective, and who accepts responsibility to supervise a student teacher in the following school year, shall not be required to undergo an evaluation during the year in which the teacher supervises the student teacher.
b. A teacher whose annual evaluation requirement is waived pursuant to subsection a. of this section shall not be precluded from supervising a student teacher in subsequent school years 1with the approval of the chief school administrator1
2. This act shall take effect in the first full school year following the date of enactment.
