SYNOPSIS

     Prohibits person from buying, selling, making or altering, giving, issuing, obtaining or attempting to obtain high school transcripts with intent to deceive and establishes penalty.

An Act concerning high school transcripts and supplementing chapter 36 of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.  a.  A person shall not buy, sell, make or alter, give, issue, obtain or attempt to obtain a transcript of high school course work with the intent to deceive.

     b.  A person who violates this provision is liable to a civil penalty of $1,000 for each offense, which shall be collected pursuant to the provisions of the “Penalty Enforcement Law of 1999," P.L.1999, c.274 (C.2A:58-10 et seq.).

 

     2.  This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill prohibits a person from buying, selling, making or altering, giving, issuing, obtaining or attempting to obtain a transcript of high school course work with the intent to deceive.  A person who violates this provision is subject to a civil penalty of $1,000 for each offense.
