SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
STATEMENT TO
ASSEMBLY JOINT RESOLUTION No. 35
STATE OF NEW JERSEY
DATED: JANUARY 9, 2020
The Senate Judiciary Committee reports favorably Assembly Joint Resolution No. 35.
This joint resolution designates the third full week in March of each year as “Domestic Violence Services Awareness Week” in New Jersey, to bring awareness to the services available to domestic violence victims in the State.
There are approximately 39 organizations in this State that offer advocacy, services, and assistance to domestic violence victims and their families. However, victims may not be aware of these resources. The designation of “Domestic Violence Services Awareness Week” is intended to raise awareness of these organizations and the help they offer.
This joint resolution is identical to Senate Joint Resolution No. 159, also reported today by the committee.
