STATEMENT TO

ASSEMBLY, No. 1293

with Senate Floor Amendments

(Proposed by Senator GREENSTEIN)

ADOPTED: DECEMBER 20, 2021

      These amendments:

      (1)  include a findings and declarations section to the bill to highlight the significant economic importance to the State of New Jersey and its residents that the State supports the future development, expansion, and continued success of New Jersey’s burgeoning craft alcohol beverage industry in a myriad of ways;

      (2)  provides that the executive director would give consideration to recommendations of the advisory council in the decision-making process of how monies expended to the advisory council would be utilized;

      (3)  provides that the Governor would appoint members to the advisory council;

      (4)  provides that the Division of Travel and Tourism would promulgate rules and regulations concerning the provisions of this bill; and

      (5)  clarifies that the division may promulgate rules and regulations to effectuate the purposes of the bill.
