ASSEMBLY, No. 4202

with committee amendments

      The Assembly Labor Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Assembly Bill No. 4202.

      As amended, this bill requires the Department of Human Services to establish a telephone hotline available, at a minimum, weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. through which information and referral services will be provided to persons with a disability during emergencies and disasters.

      As amended, the bill provides that the Department of Human Services may contract out administration of the hotline.

COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS:

      The committee amended the bill to:

      (1)  Transfer the administration of the hotline from the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services in the Department of Labor and Workforce Development to the Department of Human Services to operate during emergencies and disasters; and

      (2)  Provide that the Department of Human Services may contract out administration of the hotline.
