ASSEMBLY, No. 5696

with Assembly Floor Amendments

      Assembly Bill No. 5696 authorizes county corrections officers to take the modified basic training program, as revised by the Police Training Commission, to prepare them to transition into a position as a detective or investigator in a county prosecutor’s office or as a county or municipal police officer. 

      These Assembly amendments limit the provisions of the bill to only allow those county corrections officers who were employed by a county correctional facility which closed in calendar year 2021 to take the revised modified basic training.
