An Act concerning boat launch fees at State parks and forests and supplementing P.L.1983, c.324 (C.13:1L-1 et seq.).

Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

     1.    The department shall not charge a fee to any resident of the State of 62 or more years of age for launching or retrieving a boat in a State park or forest.

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

This bill would prohibit the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) from charging a boat launch fee at a State park or forest to a resident of the State who is 62 years old or older.  Under current DEP regulations, residents 62 and older are exempt from entrance and parking fees at State parks and forests, but they are not exempt from boat launch fees.
