SENATE STATE GOVERNMENT, WAGERING, TOURISM & HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
STATEMENT TO
SENATE, No. 1974
STATE OF NEW JERSEY
DATED: JULY 22, 2020
The Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 1974.
This bill amends existing law to allow New Jersey residents who are in another jurisdiction to place wagers on the results of horse races using this State’s account wagering system as long as the placing of such wagers is not inconsistent with the law of that jurisdiction or with federal law. Current law allows only New Jersey residents while within this State to participate in account wagering.
Senate Bill No. 1974 is identical to Assembly Bill No. 2355 of 2020-2021.
