An Act temporarily adjusting summer working hours for certain minors.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. A minor between 16 and 18 years of age may work up to 50 hours in one week during the period beginning on the last day of a minor’s school year and ending on Labor Day, with written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire on September 6 of 2021.
STATEMENT
This bill would permit minors between 16 and 18 years of age to work up to 50 hours in a week during the summer period beginning the last day of the minor’s school year and ending on Labor Day. A parent or guardian’s permission is required. This bill takes effect immediately and expires on September 6 of 2021.
